※ You are confident in both spoken and written especially in Japanese and English on business level, more other language such as Chinese, Korean are preferred.

• You have a high affinity to digital tools and bring along the knowledge and understanding of digital capabilities.
• You have full understanding of what it means for IKEA to be in a multichannel environment.
• You do not only see customers, you also see users – the people using and interacting with IKEA every day without buying at the moment.
• You have a deep understanding of the IKEA organization and have worked in several parts of it.
• You have proven ability to use commercial competence to capitalize on short- and long-term business opportunities.
• You have a proven record of consistently meeting agreed budgets and goals and working on plans short- and long-term.
• You have the ability to quickly understand the local market conditions and capitalize on opportunities.
• You are an excellent change leader and communicator, able to work in the line and with a matrix.

In this role you will report to the Market Manager.


*Original Job Title is "Deputy Market Manager", however, the role is more likely to be a "Deputy City Shop Manager".

Your tasks will include:

• You ensure a consistency positive shopping experience for our customers through meeting their needs and expectations and creating meaningful moments of truth physically and digitally.
• Together with other market managers and unit managers in Tokyo, you establish IKEA as the leading Home Furnishing Multichannel Retailer through a very strong customer focus.
• You secure a strong commercial focus with seamless connections online and offline.
• You develop co-workers that meet the competence need in our new environment. You lead and inspire your team, understanding the mix of skills needed to create an adaptable, change oriented atmosphere.
• More than ever, you work close with all other units and customer meeting points in IKEA Japan to meet the needs of our customers and make best use of the talents of your co-workers.
• You constantly evaluate business performance and identify change initiatives to improve the business, taking into account predicted social, economic and environmental changes.
• You build and develop partnerships with surrounding retailers, institutions and community organizations for promotional opportunities, special events, and off-site sales opportunities.

Leads and develops a part of the Unit/ Store Management Team to achieve IKEA goals and standards, delivering an efficient and profitable operation in line with the IKEA Concept to secure IKEA as the best home furnishings company in the local market.
