Loss Prevention Officer Co-worker (35+ Hours)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• Experience in the Loss Prevention field (floor walking, detection of suspicious persons) • Ability to work well under pressure during peak business periods • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills and are self-motivated, diplomatic and confident in order to interact with customers • Willingness to share learning and knowledge • Certification for Basic First Aid, CPR will be required • Valid Provincial Security License is an asset • Computer aptitude and administrative skills • Basic knowledge of local/federal laws and court procedures • Police check clearance • Good at creating satisfied customers. • Enthusiastic and able to work with others in a team. • Business-minded and result-driven with a customer focus. • Experience of working in a customer- and commercial-oriented business. • Interest in people’s everyday life at home and home furnishing • Open to change/highly flexibility. Ability to take personal initiatives. Excellent attention to detail. • Ability to prioritise and organise your own work to make efficient use of the time available • Good communication and problem solving skills • Strong knowledge of computer programs • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality • Ability to lift 50 lbs. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Key responsibilities (text) • Ensure IKEA’s access control policy regarding coworkers and visitors is adhered to. • Greet all coworkers, contractors and other visitors who enter IKEA thorough the personnel entrance ensuring all visitors sign in and all non-IKEA visitors are escorted into the store. • Answer the administration phone line in an efficient and friendly manner, coordinating all internal calls and external calls, managing the paging system and answering all coworker and customer questions and concerns or re-routing to an expert. • Monitor and maintain intrusion, fire, gas, and customer panic alarms and coordinate emergency response situations as required in an efficient and timely manner. • Process delegated internally generated report audits to ensure safety and security measures are being adhered to, complete and forward or file in accordance with dictated procedures. • Ensure IKEA Bag Check policy is administered as all coworkers and visitors leave the building. • Monitor and maintain camera equipment in the Loss Prevention Administration area. • Process inbound mail. • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of coworkers and customers • Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur
