ABOUT THE JOB Support technology solutions within the IKEA store in order to establish the ideal conditions for selling. Local IT is responsible for ensuring that the IT infrastructure, hardware and applications used in the daily operations are functioning according to service level standards.
YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your tasks will include:
Respond to frontline IT requests by providing hands-on support for computers, printers, scanners, telephones, UPS etc. including installation and maintenance of new hardware technology and applications.
Utilize the task management tool to monitor workload, track tickets and prioritize incoming support requests.
Troubleshoot and resolve network infrastructure hardware problems.
Work proactively to avoid problems, be attentive to coming changes and be prepared to take actions quickly.
Support and participate in the implementation of new initiatives and projects within the IKEA stores.
Monthly reporting and follow-up responsibilities.
Educate store personnel in IKEA IT standards, rules and guidelines.
YOUR PROFILE Your knowledge, skills and experience include:
The ability to be a self-starter who thinks “outside of the box” when working on new initiatives in a changing environment.
A thorough understanding and proven success in managing computer hardware and providing desktop support, including applications, access management and upgrades.
A passion for Information Technology in a retail environment.
The ability to make quick decisions and prioritize incoming requests while following established guidelines
The capability to multi-task to meet tight service deadlines.
The ability to work independently and as a team member.
Excellent customer service and communication skills in order to relay information and provide guidance to all co-workers in a professional manner.
Experience in Telephony (Spectralink & Nortel CS1000 PBX is an asset).
1-2 years of related experience, preferably within retail
