Job description

ABOUT THE JOB Work with our customers to prepare, schedule and perform final check over of all customer orders to ensure the order is handed over to our Delivery Drivers accurately and without damage to strengthen IKEA’s position as the best home furnishing store

YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your tasks will include:


  • Prepare deliveries for pickup as per agreements, ensuring order accuracy and that products & packages leave the building in good shape.
  • Clearly label and log all products as per order details and place all delivery goods in the designated area always operating your area at IKEA Commercial Review standards.
  • Complete any necessary return or exchange procedures to maintain correct stock levels and serve the customer
  • Process all online orders and ensure they are ready for the customer’s chosen pick-up time window
  • Ensure all orders waiting for pickup are organized neatly while also creating a safe environment for your co-workers to maneuver
  • Check all customer pick up orders for accuracy and ensure they leave the building in good shape
  • Ensure a positive shopping experience by greeting customers, being visible and available at all times and managing first contact resolution.
  • Identify customer delivery and assembly needs prior to processing orders & minimize wait times by accurately entering complete orders.
  • Thank the customer, offer a friendly closing and invite them back.
  • Communicate customer comments about our Home Delivery service to management
  • Adhere to inventory control and safety and security procedures
  • Use available resources to educate yourself on product features, services and customer interaction techniques
  • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of coworkers and customers
  • Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur

YOUR PROFILE Your knowledge, skills and experience include:

  • Must be available to start at 7am (Sunday to Saturday) and close at 10pm (Monday to Saturday)
  • Proactive and courteous customer approach
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to share your knowledge and learning
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Computer aptitude
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs. (50 kg) on a regular basis
  • Interest in home furnishings
  • Valid drivers license, in good standing as determined by state/provincial regulations
