IKEA Food Co-worker (Goods Receiving)

Job description


You are passionate about food and life at home, and are able to demonstrate: • Proven ability to work in a high volume and fast-paced environment • High customer-centric approach as you focus on ensuring our suppliers have a fast and efficient experience • Capability of safely carrying out heavy lifting, manual handling, product rotation, stacking, unpacking and operating manual pallet jacks • An energetic and team-focused approach as this department can become extremely busy • Basic computer skills and experience in recording inventory, and have the ability to work according to tight deadlines • Knowledge of HACCP and/or previous replenishment experience in a large hospitality or retail environment, such as supermarkets, convention centres or airport food operations will be highly regarded


The overall IKEA Food team comprises of the Kitchen Production, Commercial Restaurant, and Swedish Food Market (SFM) & Bistro teams. Currently we are recruiting for an IKEA Food Co-worker working primarily within the Kitchen Production team, where your key role will be to support the department’s main focus to prepare and serve food, including our world famous meatballs and Daim cake, to both our customers and co-workers. Your responsibilities will include: • Managing incoming deliveries (pallets can weighing up to 200KG) from suppliers and ensuring goods are processed and stored effectively (without the use of a forklift), including regular access to the freezer and cool room (adequate clothing will be provided). • Complying with strict IKEA Food and HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety, including temperature and date checks. • Communicating with the team if any discrepancies occur in the receiving process. • Understanding and contributing to the department’s action plans by supporting the department’s annual goals and targets.

The successful candidate will be availability to work weekdays within 6:30am to 3pm, and up to 3 out of 4 weekends (shifts may range from 6am to 9pm) This is a permanent part time (40hrs/fortnight) opportunity to join the IKEA Food team at our Tempe store!
