About the job

The purpose of a Key Account role is to develop and maintain long-term good relationship with new and existing corporate customers. To develop key accounts and contract sales that extend beyond Singapore and removing the barriers in an efficient and effective way in all media in order to attract more business customer to purchase from IKEA. The goal is to establish IKEA as the first destination for furnishing businesses in the Singapore market.

Your assignment

  • Overall objective is to grow sales and sustain long-term profitability. Regularly meet with our customers to learn from their experiences, ideas and views in order to improve the quality of our offer and their shopping experience.
  • Analyse key account sales performance, customer feedback and database information.
  • Actively work with stakeholders in Sales, Logistics, Communication & Interior Design, Marketing, Legal, Customer Relation, Finance to identify and build long-lasting relationships with external partners (e.g. associations, interest groups, developers, media) serving the business community.
  • Provide clients with projects on time on budget with right quality.
  • Ensure that the proposed solutions match IKEA's image and business priorities.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, workplace lifestyles and new technologies.
  • Contribute to and gain agreement on national BUSINESS sales budgets and other key performance indicators (KPI) and goals that reflect the global and local IKEA business priorities
  • Ensure all initiatives grow our sales and support the sustaining of long-term profitability.
  • Control costs through working in a lean, simple, cost-conscious way using best practises and continually look to find effective ways of working.


Your profile

  • Strong contacts in construction and property development
  • Strong leadership and ability to work together as well as be self-motivated and meet deadlines.
  • Analyse the long-term functional needs of the client.
  • Possess a true strategic sense (ability to understand the client's environment, its issues and priorities).
  • Ability to negotiate, conduct discussions and close sales.
  • Communicate / present with conviction.
