We are looking for a highly motivated leader who leads and inspire his/her team to optimise the shopping experience to secure satisfied customers and increased sales and profitability in our store. In this development role to become our future Sales Manager, you lead the Sales team alongside wiht the Sales Manager to achieve excellent performance using your knowledge of the IKEA product range, the local market, competition and customers. Your leadership is based on performing and delivering while learning and developing in the business. You use the IKEA tools and expertise of your team to support you in performing. In your strategies and actions, you always consider and steer the business in a multichannel retail environment, particularly the IKEA store and IKEA website.
Perform and deliver. Deliver and lead the commercial action plan for the store; taking input from the team and the matrix manager to ensure the function supports the achievement of the agreed goals for Singapore, maximising sales and generates sustained long-term profitability. Take responsibility for a number of key processes in the store to drive operational excellence and strong results i.e. Forecasting, Sales Location Management or Sales Steering through business analysis.
Strong Leadership. Secure competent and high-performing teams and leaders who inspire and empower every co-worker to recognise and understand their contribution. Identify and develop the many talents within the function to secure succession planning and unleash co-worker’s potentials.
Customer centricity. Secure a consistent, seamless positive customer experience through all channels by ensuring that your function is always striving to fulfil IKEA customer motivators. Ensure your shopkeepers have the right number of co-workers in the right place at the right time to run their shops successfully and ensure their co-workers are ready and available to serve customers and help them buy.
Business acumen. Know your local market potential and work with teh commerial team and other functions to ensure your store is locally relevant throughout the different sales channels.
Strong analysis and follow-up. Analyse the qualitative performance of your store using IKEA research tools to improve the IKEA mechanical sales system and easy buying process through all channels. Follow up your financial goals, KPIs and costs, and take action on deviations. Motivate and develop team members by agreeing clear goals, expectations and conducting regular follow-ups.
Minimum 8 years of leadership expereince in retail sales/fast-paced and dynamic and have highly developed knowledge in sales merchandising, sales steering and range presentation.
Proven abilities to lead, motivate and bring out the best in co-workers and to motivate and develop the team. An ambassador of IKEA Values.
A good sense of the retail and competitive landscape in Singapore is necessary.
Analytical, customer-focused, self-motivated, results-oriented, have a flair for engaging people at all levels and influencing outcomes. Strategic planning and problem solving in a fast-paced environment is a norm for you.
Energtic and strong passion for home furnishings and a love for selling.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to share knowledge and learnings with highly developed networking skills.
