About the job

We want to fill this position with a business minded and proactive enthusiast with a strong passion for Compliance and developing people, who can support us in securing our vision of creating a better everyday life for many people in Southeast Asia by ensuring we operate in accordance with internal steering documents, regulatory requirements and business requirements imposed by Inter-IKEA System (our franchisor)

Your assignment

  • Develop a business-oriented and risk-based compliance program and establish a reporting framework to report on the level of compliance across the region
  • Effectively communicate relevant internal and external requirements and secure all requirements are understood by the business units (Stores, Shopping Centres, Service Office)
  • Conduct or coordinate relevant compliance monitoring activities (audits, reviews, continuous assessment,) and establish new metrics, trend reports,
  • Oversee the proper maintenance and development of our continuous assessment tool (ICheck/WeCheck)
  • Identify areas of compliance vulnerabilities and provide guidance and develop actions plans to address the said vulnerabilities.
  • Drive and embed a culture of ethics and integrity by leading business ethics initiative relating to Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Code of Conduct, Money Laundering and Sanctioned Parties Screening
  • Support Functional Managers on regional level in the development and implementation of regional steering documents and SOPs as well as Extraordinary Operational Procedures that embed the compliance requirements
  • Support the Process Manager (i) in identifying improvement potentials in existing business processes and SOPs to achieve a high level of transactional compliance and (ii) in defining, for new products or processes, the compliance requirements and secure they are addressed prior launching
  • Prepare periodical consolidated reports for the Head of Risk and Compliance, The Audit and Risk Management Committee on the overall level of compliance on key risk areas.
  • Assist  the Head of Risk and Compliance with other ad hoc assignments
  • Be the main point of contact with the IKEA franchisor regarding our compliance towards the Franchisees business requirements

Qualification

Your profile

  • You have a sound understanding of the key elements of a compliance framework and minimum of 8 years’ experience (preferably in a retail or manufacturing environment)
  • You hold at a minimum a bachelor degree. A Master degree is a plus
  • You have a strong business acumen partnered with a dedication to high ethics and integrity
  • You are driven by change and results , you are confident, positive and demonstrate perseverance
  • Extensive experience in compliance, operational risk management and internal control
  • You have a deep understanding of topics relating to anti-bribery and corruption, data privacy, anti-money laundering and a high sense of integrity
  • Good communication (written and verbal communication) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and drive own initiatives till completion while applying a collaborative approach
  • Ability to influence across all level in an organization
  • Able to capture and explain the business impact of regulatory/legal requirements
