Food Category Area is implementing “One Supply Chain” project globally in FY20, integrating food purchasing and establishing end-to-end food supply chain to provide healthier, safe and more sustainable food at affordable prices for the many people. 

    Job description

    Purpose of the job:

    • Take the leadership in the purchasing team to ensure supplier has goods ready in time and in full in order to fulfil customers’ need at lowest possible landed cost by:
    • Achieving excellence in running logistics operations in accordance with Category Plan, by interacting with respective stakeholders and complying with working methods;
    • Taking the lead in operational capacity planning at supplier level and contributing to tactical capacity planning;
    • Developing logistics performance through common Action Plans with Suppliers

    Job Assignments:

    • Contribute to set up compliant and competitive regional supplier base for Ikea Food in Asia Pacific region, 
    • Lead logistic development agenda and implement action plans, work together with business team members 
    • Track, analyze and improve suppliers’ logistic performance. Secure on-time delivery and availability, optimize food supply chain setup and drive logistic cost development. 
    • Develop suppliers’ logistic competence with different planning, operation and replenishment modes

    Job Requirements:

    • Deep Understanding of IKEA Purchasing Manual and good understanding of IKEA Purchasing Development Process (PDP), IKEA Purchasing Year Cycle and the Governance Structure.
    • Understanding of IKEA Supplier Development Process (SDP), new product development and knowledge around how supply planner contributes to them.
    • Knowledge of supplier capabilities, material, production flow, capacity planning and available capacities.
    • Understanding IKEA Supply Chain organization and processes within Planning and Delivery.
    • Knowledge of supply chain cost drivers from raw material to customer and logistic tools such as: different replenishment methods, delivery solutions and working with lead times
    • Capability to delivery results through involving and engaging stakeholders within IKEA and Supplier.
    • Able to translate the Category Plan into logistics solutions; always act with the Customer, Supplier, Total IKEA and Total Cost Development in mind.
    • Capability to transfer knowledge and working methods to suppliers.
    • Capability to perform complex analysis, and draw conclusions to support the right business decisions and implementations..
