Job description


• Good knowledge of processes and methodologies of data management and how to manage data across the lifecycle
• Good knowledge of IT and data systems, and the constantly changing tools enabling use and management of large amounts of data
• Broad knowledge of Ingka’s core business processes, and the role of data in operational reality
• Strong knowledge of data management systems and how they can enable agility and flexibility to respond to customer needs
• Good understanding of data usage trends and possibilities at large scales and/or platforms
• Basic understanding of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
• Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations across the globe, including trends and upcoming legislative agenda items
• Good understanding of master data and meta data management practices, and challenges
• Good knowledge of the role high-quality data plays in the development of advanced analytical models and algorithms
Good knowledge of IKEA’s corporate identity, core values and vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people
• Formal qualifications (BSc, MSc, PhD) in information technology, business, economics or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading in an area with heavy focus on data management operations
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience implementing data management and data governance in large organizations, with special focus on data management capabilities and implementing governance structures and roles, master data management, data sharing, as well as enabling advanced analytics
• Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience in a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple projects and peoples’ activities simultaneously
• Experience working with others to devise and implement new ways of working related to data


• Drive understanding and operationalization of approach for total lifecycle of data, enabling improved regulatory, legal, and internal compliance on data topics and overall quality of data used in business processes and analytics
• Secure implementation of data management capabilities from business and data lifecycle perspectives, enabling cross-domain and overall Ingka optimization of data • Responsible for maintaining a holistic view of data management activities, compliance, and performance across one or more Digital domains in order to optimise data usage and compliance to internal and external rules
• Implement data governance framework, data management lifecycle approach, and data by design methodology in one or more Digital domains to establish common ways of working
• Actively engage in the development of new digital products from early stages, collaborating to make use of existing data and identifying new potentials for collected data to secure implementation of data by design methodology
• Actively identify and solve complex data management challenges within and across digital products, working collaboratively with co-workers in agile teams and other parts of the business to find and solve root causes and priorities solutions
• Secure usage of data and meta data principles, guidelines, practices, and frameworks
• Build trust and collaborate in domains, sub-domains, product teams as well as with other areas within Ingka in order to continuously improve data performance and usage
• Use root cause research to identify data process breakdowns and together with data architects and data engineers find solutions to the breakdown
