ABOUT THE JOB As IKEA Montreal's HR Generalist, your mission is toestablish IKEA as the preferred employer by attracting those who share the IKEA values, ensuring a systematic development for all co-workers, and inspire the co-workers to perform and remain with IKEA.
YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your tasks will include:
Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing co-workers in accordance with IKEA’s Culture & Human Resources Idea.
Lead the orientation process and on-boarding presentations for new co-workers, update data, documentation and see to the continuous improvement of the process.
Interpretation of the collective agreement.
Verify accuracy of time-keeping and payroll registers, and communicate with co-workers, vendors and IKEA Canada’s Human Resource Service Centre on any issues or discrepancies as needed in a timely and professional manner.
Contribute to secure and verify HR-related compliance with the labour laws and internal and external regulations. Take actions in case of deviations or improvement potential.
Be knowledgeable, educate and advise co-workers on all aspects of IKEA Canada’s Benefit Program and Savings Programs (RRSP, DPSP, CSB, etc.).
Educate and advise co-workers on the IKEA Group’s Code of Conduct, Vision, Business Idea, Concept and Culture.
Prepare various written communications including offer letters, employment verification letters and job postings.
Manage the administration of short term disability, long term disability, CSST, maternity leave and general leaves of absence programs.
Maintain applicant and employee tracking modules such as Brassring, SAP and KRONOS, and produce necessary reports.
Maintain reports related to performance management, annual performance evaluations, development plans, terminations, service anniversaries, etc.
Maintain filing systems.
Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.
Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur.
YOUR PROFILE Your knowledge, skills and experience include:
1-2 years Human Resource experience, or equivalent
1-2 years IKEA experience or 2-3 years learning and development experience, retail preferred
University degree in a related field
Perfectly bilingual, in French and English (verbal and written)
Ability to form strong business relationships at all levels in the organization, and excellent interpersonal skills
Highly effective and proficient written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills
Dynamic and creative interviewing skills
Computer literacy (especially Microsoft Suite)
Proven organizational skills
Attention to detail and discretion
Interest in home furnishings
