Human Resource Generalist – Customer Support Centre

Job description


• 3-5 years Human Resource experience, or equivalent • Perfectly bilingual, in French and English (verbal and written) • Ability to form strong business relationships and influence at all levels in the organization, and excellent interpersonal skills • Highly effective and proficient written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills • Dynamic and creative interviewing skills • Computer literacy (especially Microsoft Suite) • Knowledge with SAP, Avature and/or Kronos, an asset • Proven organizational skills • Attention to detail and discretion • Interest in home furnishings


• Be knowledgeable, educate and advise co-workers and managers on all aspects of IKEA Canada’s Benefit Program Savings Programs (RRSP, DPSP, TFS, etc.) and Code of Conduct. • Provide support and guidance to managers and maintain reports related to performance management, annual performance evaluations, development plans, terminations, service anniversaries, etc. • Prepare various written communications including offer letters, employment verification letters and job postings. • Manage cases of short-term disability, long-term disability, CSST, maternity leave and medical leaves of absence and accommodation programs. • Verify accuracy of time-keeping and payroll registers and communicate with co-workers and IKEA Canada’s Human Resource Service Centre on any issues or discrepancies as needed in a timely and professional manner. • Contribute to secure and verify HR-related compliance with the labour laws and internal and external regulations. Take actions in case of deviations or improvement potential. • Facilitate the recruitment, selection, training, and development of co-workers in accordance with IKEA’s Culture & Human Resources Idea. • Lead the orientation process for new co-workers and see to the continuous improvement of the process. • Maintain and be responsible for filing systems and day-to-day administration. • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers. • Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur.
