About the Department:
To positively impact quality assurance functions for the pack department by acting as an internal auditor that ensures products manufactured and packed for shipping meet established quality standard and customer’s requirements.
Inspection and apply quality control procedures with the Pack department in regard to in-process material and packed products to assure that quality control standards are achieved.
Perform material testing under direction from Quality Assurance Team Captain and/or Manager.
Work within the Pack department to ensure quality assurance aspects of products being readied for shipping.
Perform periodic validation test to ensure products meet customer’s specifications.
Verify specific dimensions of products and/or material according to standard.
Evaluate and take corrective action when necessary with regard to article’s acceptable standard as outlines in SOP.
Evaluate product finish, measurements, ease of assembly for conformance to specification.
Reject any defective parts, elements, panels, articles and/or products.
Understand and apply IKEA QA requirements to the overall finished goods.
Develop a working knowledge of all raw materials and elements of the finished product.
Cross train in QA for other functional area of the manufacturing process.
Assist in developing and preparing quality process and procedures
Drive continuous improvements through LEAN. Identify and implement initiatives.
Consistently follow the vision and values of IKEA Industry.
Read, analyze and interpret documents such as pallet label/tickets, product codes, maintenance instructions, blue print, safety rules, procedure manuals, etc.
Actively participates in meetings, projects and assigned team activities.
Any other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) is required; and a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of manufacturing, industrial maintenance and/or Quality assurance experience.
