Interior Designer and Visual Merchandising Co-worker

Job description


You have a passion for home furnishing and you are curious about how people live. You thrive on working in a fast paced, creative environment where you work to tight deadlines. This is a physical, fast-paced role so you will need a practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work with a variety of tools including ladders and power tools. You aspire to be a motivational leader who can engage people fully to reach set goals, and generate growth and long-term profitability, continually challenging yourself and your partners to strengthen the IKEA brand and at the same time exceed expectations of our customers. You are confident in communicating, influencing and coaching others and continually seek new opportunities to improve the way we work, and encourage others to do so. You have a formal tertial qualification in interior design along with industry experience. Experience with AutoCad, SketchUp, Adobe CC Suite and/or Revit is highly regarded but not essential.


• Using your passion for home furnishing to contribute to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
• Applying your home furnishing knowledge to create home furnishing solutions for customers (involving customer visits) through creating functional media and sales support areas that reflect the IKEA identity.
• Stimulating and increasing the interest for home furnishing through constantly showing new and inspiring solutions that motivate people to visit the IKEA store frequently.
• Assisting in building furniture and setting up new room-sets when required.
• Using the IKEA product range to show the distinct and different styles that appeal to many individual tastes and needs within the local market.
• Reflecting the IKEA Brand identity by creating visual impact in all commercial, sales support, and co-worker areas.
• Contributing to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
• Providing home furnishing solutions for a single product or a combination of products to improve people’s life at home.
• Demonstrating the uniqueness of the IKEA product range through your visual merchandising competence and display techniques in different store media and activity areas to distance us from the competition.
• Working with vitality to motivate people to visit the IKEA store more frequently.
• Engaging others through the ability to visualise and present a commercial idea.
