Assistant to IKEA Supply Manager

Job description

IKEA Supply is part of Inter IKEA Group. Our job is to enable IKEA to do good business while being a good business. About 4800 co-workers make sure IKEA has materials to use, suppliers to work with and a distribution network to make products available for our customers. Inter IKEA wholesalers, part of IKEA Supply, sell and supply IKEA franchisees with IKEA products. IKEA Supply also has the responsibility to secure that our products are produced and transported according to IWAY, the code of conduct for IKEA suppliers. We co-operate with more than 1600 suppliers of home furnishing, transport, logistics & distribution services, components and food to fulfil our vison to create a better everyday life for the many people.

With a strong base in the IKEA values, IKEA Supply is always looking for high performing individuals with the ability and willingness to grow and succeed within IKEA. As a step in building talents for the future we are now looking for an assistant to our IKEA Supply Manager.

The position will give you a unique opportunity to work at the heart of IKEA Supply, giving you the possibility to get an understanding of the total IKEA landscape and how every part in the organisation is linked to each other. You will be a key player in the IKEA Supply Manager’s working life, where no day looks like the other, giving you a unique insight in the responsibilities of an IKEA Supply manager as well as insights in all other represented roles in the management team. We believe that the learning, insights and networks that you will receive in this position will be a stepping stone to take on a bigger, more challenging position within IKEA in the future.  

You will be working with the following tasks:  

  • You will be responsible for coordinating and planning activities within the Yearly Calendar for IKEA Supply.
  • You will project lead and deliver to assigned business projects. (e.g. Coordinate on behalf of Supply the content for business plan kick off, and BPL focus weeks)
  • You will monitor and follow up on key implementation activities in IKEA Supply, secure ambition level and progress.
  • You will together with IKEA Supply Manager be part of the IKEA Supply Management meetings, and other forums in order to support and get an understanding of the organisation and the interfaces with the rest of IKEA.
  • You will represent IKEA Supply mgm in selected forums, both internally and externally
  • You will act as communication and administrative support to the IKEA Supply manager and IKEA Supply management team.
