Job description


You are energised by working both independently in the market/unit, and interdependently with the communication matrix, other functions/units and the global communication team in Ingka Group. As a person you are passionate about leading, inspiring and developing people, as well as transformational change. We believe you have an interest in society and passion about people's everyday life. You are curious about communication & modern digital retailing trends, and turning them into practice. You share and develop the IKEA culture & values. To be successful in this role you need 4-6 years’ experience from working with strategic communication and/or business leadership, with 4-6 years’ experience from working with strategic business planning. We believe you hold strong documented leadership skills, with experience leading in change, and solid experience working with crisis communication. You should have 5-8 years of experience with both external (incl. digital communication), internal communication, Public affairs, brand positioning and stakeholder management. You are fluent in written and spoken English. You have knowledge in following areas: • deep knowledge in strategic communication and brand positioning - both internal and external – actively demonstrating best in class know-how and tapping into developing trends. • extensive knowledge about Ingka and IKEA business – processes, tools and planning cycles • strong retail industry understanding and experience • solid business and commercial planning knowledge • strong Digital communication skills (Social Media, digital platforms and approaches) • good understanding of Public Affairs area • high understanding about Crisis communication Management and reactive and proactive processes. • mechanism and process of delivering efficient communication and stakeholder plans using IKEA Tools, methods and channels • deep knowledge of IKEA Concept; our IKEA Culture & Values In addition, we believe you achieve business goals by successfully working interdependently within the market, and globally. You can lead multiple functions with the capacity to handle multiple priorities, initiatives, interfaces and tasks, and the ability to understand the complexity of IKEA business and the role of communication adding value as an integrated part of the business. You communicate in an inspirational way verbally, visually and in writing, with IKEA tone of voice. You know how to develop virtual and other collaborative relationships to facilitate current and future objectives, and hold coaching and facilitation skills.


To secure the strategic use of communication as an enabler to reach the positioning, business and people objectives. To lead communication both internally and externally by defining, planning, executing and measuring, while following up communication to relevant local strategic stakeholders. Drives an open and sharing climate where our co-workers are well informed, engaged and empowered. Is a role model of the IKEA values. You will: • lead and develop an impactful communication strategy, action plan (including Public Affairs) in the market, both internally and externally, and secure that communication is used as a strategic tool for leading and developing business and people • be responsible for leading communication performance, evaluation and follow-up in the market • in close collaboration with other key contributors, drive growth and brand positioning towards target groups, in line with the Ingka retail direction, global communication plan and country BPL,–developing long-term relationships with all relevant stakeholders • represent communication in the country management team, leveraging strategic functional expertise and contributing to the growth and development of IKEA on the market, and acting as strategic business partner to the Country Manager • act as spokesperson for Ingka in the market and securing other effective spokespeople in the market through briefing and training • understand and engage with all stakeholders and other influencers both emotionally and rationally; facilitate dialogue, encourage involvement and contribute to an open and sharing climate • enable effective internal communication and engagement, and create prerequisites for our co-workers, in all legal entities, to be our best ambassadors. Secure an effective use of internal communication channel landscape • as member of country ERT team, responsible to develop & lead the crisis communications approach & key messages, while supporting other spokespeople • together with P&C, enable change and support change process with effective communication and IKEA leadership • responsible for securing that all communication and collaboration needs between the different Ingka/IKEA unit communicators in the country are implemented according to the Representing IKEA principles • participate in communication projects to contribute in the development of communication globally In this role you will report to the Country Retail Manager.


Our team is the voice of IKEA. We use words, pictures and videos to tell the story about IKEA, to build our brand and inspire people with our offer. We bounce ideas back and forth, we challenge each other and we are crazy passionate about communication.
