Job description

Your assignment

Consumers/ Customers

  • Lead and manage the team to understand our PMA and competition, our consumers and their living situations and use this to improve our customers’ shopping experience. 
  • Ensure the team uses this knowledge to proactively secure our competitive advantage to be the first choice for home furnishings.
  • Ensure the team works with our store and SO to secure that our customer needs are reflected in our range and prices, now and in the future
  • Analyze individual store performance and customer feedback with the team and use this information to improve the mechanical sales system and easy buying process in our stores.
  • See the store through the eyes of the customers and give constructive, honest feedback to the shopkeepers on how they can improve the shopping experience for our customers.

Commercial

  • Lead and manage my team and work with the store team to grow our business with sustained long term profitability. 
  • Knowing our global priorities, our range, PMA and competition.
  • Develop a strategy and set goals for the area of the home, with the shopkeepers.  This is based on constant improvement in order to meet the needs of our customers now and in the future
  • Work with the shopkeepers in home furnishing business to ensure they understand the strategies and how best to present/work with the range to support the commercial strategy set by the Service Office.  
  • Communicating the priorities of the area(s) clearly to the shopkeepers in a way that motivates them to take ownership of the achievement of our agreed goals.
  • Ensuring the team analyses current trends and optimize commercial opportunities.  This is achieved by working in cooperation with the store commercial team and the SO sales team.
  • Using the matrix to develop their competence in order to capitalize on commercial opportunities.
  • Ensuring the team and the Core Area Leader maximize the commercial opportunities through the effective use of all media and support the business growth by contributing to the commercial activities focusing on the commercial priorities which will inspire more people to visit the store. 
  • To secure the retail foundation and have the ability to coach and support the sales teams in respect to the functional review subject matter.
  • Networking with colleagues in IKEA Southeast Asia to share good examples and successes.
  • Ensuring that the actions are aligned with our objective of becoming the leader in life at home and growing with sustained long term profitability.

Qualification

Your profile

  • Experience of working in a customer-focused service industry.
  • Experience in setting and implementing long term strategic plans, setting budgets and following up goals.
  • Proven record of consistently meeting agreed budgets and goals, and working on plans over a number of years.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work in order to make the most efficient use of the time available.
  • Ability to set expectations and provide clear direction.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English.
  • Experience in using knowledge of customer shopping behavior to develop business plans.
  • Ability to engage your receiver and create a passion for your plan.
  • Ability to generate healthy competition.
  • A considered decision-maker. Self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Good analytical and numerical skills  Financial interest in what is happening within the market, both locally and globally.
  • Experience of actively selling through understanding your customers and their needs.
  • Experience of selling gained in the retail industry, specifically the home furnishing.
  •  Ability to quickly develop knowledge of the local market and business conditions.
  • Interest in people’s everyday life at home and in-home furnishing 
  • Proven ability to drive profitability 
  • Computer literate.
