Communication Specialist

Job description


You have the affinity to create engaging communication and work with media relations, digital communication channels and stakeholder management. You are passionate about communication, working both independently and interdependently with the communication network and cross functional. You are motivated, open and value driven. To be successful in this role you need strong communication skills in both Swedish (fluent) and English - verbally, visually and in writing. You have experience of both media relations and communication in digital channels. Also, experience of strategic communications is preferable. You have knowledge in following areas: • up-to-date knowledge of the media landscape (including the latest trends in social media), activation and measurements as well as communicating with press and securing efficient relationships with media representatives • knowledge of using insights to formulate communication, PA or PR strategies, plans and activities to meet IKEA business and receiver needs • Skills and Know-how to define, plan, execute and follow-up communication to relevant stakeholders in order to keep them informed, engaged and empowered • deep understanding of the process for delivering efficient communication, tools and creating content plans for digital communication channels. Additionally, you demonstrate leadership skills, by using sound judgement to make timely and effective decisions. Preferably you hold the ability to understand the complexity of a global business and the role of communication as an integrated part of it. You are attracted by the power and possibilities of communication, with co-workers and public trust in focus, together with a proactive attitude in problem solving and hands-on approach when necessary.


Based on the country communication strategy, you support the implementation and operational communication projects, together with the team and relevant functions to impactful deliverables. You will have a partner cross-functionally (PR, PA and Co-worker communication) to build communication plans, enforce digital innovation and tactics that support the implementation of the country growth plan and the execution of the Ingka Retail direction, and drive an open and sharing climate, being a role model of the IKEA values. You will: • be responsible to develop different internal and external communication or Public Affairs assignments • contribute to the development and delivery of the market communication projects • You will be part of the media on duty acting as a IKEA spokesperson & part of the media relations agenda • develop and contribute to content creation as well as content planning for social media and other digital channels • using your voice and strategic approach to drive an innovation agenda developing digital communication throughout the organization • contribute to reactive, proactive and activist communication externally • implement and execute media/stakeholder engagement strategies for reactive, proactive and activist communication. • drive project management of internal and external communication projects, taking the stakeholder perspective • enable effective internal communication and assist in the creation of prerequisites for our leaders and co-workers to be our best ambassadors • define, plan, create/execute and follow up on internal and external communications • actively push for improvement of content creation and co-worker engagement, based on trends in communication and the latest developments within the communication field In this role you will report to the Communication Operations Manager.
