Technology Architect - Group Digital, INGKA Group

To be successful as Technology Architect you have proven advanced education in information technology, computer science or equivalent. We believe you have minimum of 5 years of experience as a software engineer and/or technical/solution architect. You are experienced in developing service architectures that are cloud-native, event-driven and with an API First approach. You have worked with Open Source and automation in a DevOps setup. In addition, we also believe you have deep understanding in shaping technical architecture in the retail business and how to modernize an existing legacy. We see that you have: • experience in agile development practices, in which requirements and solutions evolve through the collaborative effort of self-organizing cross-functional teams • experience in crafting and applying standards and reference architectures to guide teams • extensive experience and knowledge as engineer developing Service Architecture that is event-driven and with an API First approach • experience in enabling technologies for automation such as CI/CD, source code & version controls, and operational considerations such as monitoring • experience in how to modernize an existing IT landscape As a person you pay attention to detail and actively acquire new knowledge, skills and champions new methods to improve performance in deliveries. You possess knowledge across a range of different technology stacks, ideally applied within a retail sector, and can change direction based on new ideas, approaches and strategies. Furthermore, you are a good collaborator and have leadership skills to mentor, lead and develop team members on technical guidance and advice senior stakeholders.


As a Technology Architect, you will develop, update and upgrade the technical architecture landscape across IKEA and implement a framework that enables delivery of digital products. You’re setting the course with sound engineering/architecture through principles and standards that enable guidance for teams. At the same time you will also drive the implementation of the technology architecture according to plan while leading, coaching and developing the members of the Technology Architecture function. You will: • be responsible for setting architecture standards and principles in collaboration with senior engineering to enable empowered teams • be responsible for reviewing the architecture and its adherence to agreed standards and the overall roadmap • be responsible for the technology architecture implemented and account for non-functional requirements such as reliability, scalability, performance and resilience • be responsible for collaboratively creating & refining the technical architecture to support the teams as they engineer and ship features • be responsible for driving implementation of the technology architecture roadmap according to plan, minimising technical debt and modernize the IT landscape • work closely together with other technical architects and cross functional teams to produce all required solution architecture design specifications and ensure that designs and solutions work together and fulfil business needs • lead, coach and develop coworkers promoting best practice in technical architecture and continually benchmarking against industry standards • work across initiatives within INGKA Group, steering solutions towards the correct architecture It is preferred if you have experience in the areas of Customer Fulfilment, Customer, Web/eCommerce, Human Resource, Data Platform, Development Pipeline, Connectivity, Monitoring or Cloud.
