Sustainability Project Leader

Job description


You have a passion for sustainability and really want to contribute in leading IKEA towards becoming “People and Planet Positive” and inspiring 1 billion people to live within the limits of one planet. You have the ability to lead business and people with regards to creating a better life for the many within the means of 1 planet and it is something that motivates you – to make change happen! You appreciate working with a variety of tasks and have strong leadership capabilities with the ability to lead and implement change, always keeping in mind how it contributes to business, people and the planet performance. You enjoy working in fast changing and complex contexts and you are skilled in prioritizing. Having a strong network across Ingka and IKEA will be beneficial in order to see the context you work in, make connections easier and understand the total picture. Most of all, you enjoy driving change by building relationships and networks. In order to succeed in this role you need: • Knowledge and experience in project management • Several years of work experience within the Sustainability field • Minimum 5 years of work experience, preferably from within IKEA • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and communicate with senior business-leaders


As a Sustainability Project Leader in Ingka, you will be working across various sustainability strategic initiatives and both lead projects as well as develop content specific input. Some examples of projects are for instance how to measure climate impact on our operations (e.g. through TCFD assessment), or an initiative around enabling customers to live more sustainably, or developing sustainability requirement that enables putting demands on the business. The projects will vary in duration and complexity and an important part of your role will be to accelerate the implementation. Amongst others, you will: • develop, lead and implement projects/tools/guidelines related to subject matter area • drive continuous improvement of project quality and performance in assigned projects • perform project reporting, through providing sustainability management team with key milestones and status updates • manage stakeholders by identifying stakeholders and planning for stakeholder management
