As a Sustainability Leader within retail, it is crucial to have either retail, expansion or customer fulfilment experience. You need to understand how to create and implement changes within those areas that are good for people, good for business & good for the planet. It is good to have a strong network across Ingka Group, IKEA of Sweden and Inter IKEA Group so you understand the total picture. What is our corporate identity, our core values and vision? How do we design, produce, sell and deliver goods and services? How can IKEA balance and merge environmental, social and economic aspects to define sustainability? How can IKEA use that knowledge to make business within the limits of the planet?
In this position you will need excellent communication and networking skills. We need someone who is a star when it comes to inspire and motivate others. You build trustful relationships and are a brilliant leader who can manage a matrix organisation. We want you to put sustainability high on the agenda out in the organisation – always with the IKEA culture and values at heart!
To succeed in this role you also need:
• Minimum 5 years of senior experience from working with strategic sustainability and/or business leadership
• Minimum 5 years of work experience, preferably from within IKEA
• Nice to have some advanced training in Sustainability or equivalent
• Experience and previous exposure to both external and internal business leadership
As a Sustainability Leader within retail, your responsibility is to future proof Ingka retailing which means to lead consistent and effective execution of the People Planet Positive strategy. You will do that in partnership and collaboration with colleagues in Sustainability, Retail, Customer Fulfilment global functions, retail markets, IKEA of Sweden and Inter IKEA Systems. You will secure preconditions, tools and effective matrix to succeed with our business plan.
Amongst others, you will:
• develop, lead and implement projects/tools/guidelines related to subject matter area
• steer, challenge, support and share information, best practice etc with the markets
• identify relevant markets where we can explore and test new solutions
• create tools for implementation in retail
• work close with stakeholders to move the sustainability agenda
• follow up on our business plans within the markets
ABOUT THIS WORK AREA
Group Sustainability provides leadership, direction and strategic support across Ingka Group to contributing to building an IKEA with sustainability at the core to meet the future. The function acts as a business partner for other functions & is a centre of expertise focusing on: accelerating growth within the limit of one planet; empowering people to lead positive change; and building a more unique, inclusive and accessible IKEA - guided by the People and Planet Positive commitments.
