Data Architect - Customer Domain, Data & Analytics, Group Digital

Job description


We are now looking for Data Architects to join Group Digital at IKEA. We believe you get excited and creative, thinking outside-the-box, with data and its great value to the business. Moreover, we believe you have retail domain experience working with customer facing digital products and therefore have knowledge and experience in: • the Data & Analytics field with ingestion, storage, data models, APIs, KPIs and dashboards • building and designing digital products in the Retail industry • cloud and on-premise components, offerings, and architecture • designing data architectures e.g. with streaming, ETL/ELT, large volumes of unstructured and structured data, variety of database technologies • working with core data objects like customer and product information • communicating effectively across organisational, business, and technical boundaries • GDPR compliance and PII related data when it comes to handling customer data • advocating and communicating what your team does to create trust and authenticity, while being responsive to challenges • DevOps and agile development practices, in which digital products evolve through the collaborative effort of self-organizing cross-functional teams


As part of the Data Architecture team, together with a dozen data architects, in Group Digital you will be working on the overall data principles, data strategy, standards and guidelines while being embedded in one or several customer-facing product teams. Your main responsibilities are to: • work with the business and technology stakeholders to iteratively translate business problems and opportunities into information- and data architecture solutions • drive the strategy, capabilities, design, and development of data architecture from a data-centric perspective • collaborate closely with data managers, data engineers, data scientists and other roles in actively advising key stakeholders including product and platform owners on future data and technology options • analyse and define master data management strategies and propose alternatives to improve the overall integrity of the data architecture and how data is collected and shared • act as main point of contact to resolve data architecture issues • be a leading voice for data architects within the Customer domain • contribute to the standards, data strategy and guidelines


The Data Architecture team is the driver of data architecture standards and guidelines across the domains. As well as the competence development centre around design and development of Data & Analytics - with new and existing technologies and agile methods to deliver at pace. We set the digital agenda to keep IKEA leading in a fast moving environment. One of the most exciting product areas is to digitalise our stores by building digital products that creates a seamless and engaging customer experience. The product teams are responsible for designing, developing and running both customer and co-worker facing digital products with the goal of delivering an IKEA unique, best in class retail experience today and tomorrow.
