Job description

We are looking to welcome Food Co-workers to join our delightful Restaurant & Kitchen teams.

In the IKEA world, we call this position a Food Co-worker.

Expected Starting Date: 6th, 11th or 12th November 2021


• £9.50 basic hourly rate
• Living Wage Foundation Employer

18 hours working 4 days out of 7 and 3 out of 4 weekends
24 hours working 5 days out of 7 and 3 out of 4 weekends
30 hours working 5 days out of 7 and 3 out of 4 weekends

We operate 7 days a week to meet the shopping needs of our customers, we provide options for working weekend only contracts or evening and weekend only contracts with required availability to work until 23:00.

Flexibility is important as you will be required to work a range of shifts including days, our peak times on dayshift are between 10:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday which you will need to be able to commit to along with weekend working and at least 1 late finish at 11pm per week. For these contracts we are looking for someone who can work in the restaurant, prep food, use the ovens & deal with deliveries.

Prior experience in food is desirable, but not essential if you have a roll up your sleeve mindset to the various tasks & challenges that present themselves.

As a Food Co-worker, you will report to one of the Food Managers or Team Leaders and work alongside them in the kitchen to help to create a safe, healthy, delicious, sustainable, affordable, and joyful food experience for both the customer and the co-worker.

The kitchen is a safety-first, fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail for all things safety and efficient multi-tasking to ensure IKEA remains a safe place for people to shop, work and have fun.
