Job description


We are looking a self-driven individual with a commercial mind who is passionate about having products available for all our customers. This person is also someone who is passionate about growing retail business and people together with a diversified, entrepreneurial and customer focused approach.


  • Lead the store Goods Flow Team, work with the country In-store Logistics and the store commercial team to secure the highest goods availability for customers at all times and at the lowest possible cost.
  • Ambitious about people development where Performance Evaluation and Development Talk conducted on a frequent basis with all Team Managers and Process Leaders. Conversations must be based on a clear and structured development plan for each of the co-worker. 
  • Contribute relevant goods flow input & feedback and agreed to the store business plan & logistics action plan are implemented in the goods flow process.
  • Secure the quality of products, merchandising, stock accuracy and customer shopping experience in the store are meeting IKEA functional review standards together with the Commercial Team partners. 
  • Secure correct usage of short & mid-term capacity needs by creating operating capacity through space optimisation using available working methods and routines. 
  • Work closely with the Sales and Supply Support Manager to secure a common short & Mid-term capacity plan in order to maximise efficient logistics operations with the right balance in smooth incoming volume. 
  • Identify, recruit and develop the many talents in the Goods Glow Team to secure succession planning as well as succession development for the future. 
  • Understand, live and nurture IKEA values and culture that inspire colleagues to achieve future ambitions in the store and especially in the Goods Flow Team. 
  • Ensure that compliance with the IKEA code of conduct, internal regulations and local legislation relating to health, safety & security including adherence to the Global Service Protocol, Safety Manual and Standard Operating.
  • Procedures and contribute to the lowest possible costs by addressing root causes and taking action to correct inefficiencies and find better ways of working. 
  • Contribute to the positioning of IKEA retailers and IKEA brand as responsible partners in lowering environmental impact to achieving long-term profitability in a sustainable and environmental way. 
  • Actively participate and contribute to the topic of safety and security in the warehouse, loading yard, equipment handling and co-worker tools for example. 
  • Performs other assigned duties that are within the area of knowledge and skills required by the job.

  • 7 years of fast-paced logistics environment experience with at least 5 years of experience in managing a team. Retail logistics experience will be an added advantage. 
  • Able to communicate and converse in Bahasa as well as English. 
  • Confident to present in a large group and influence when introducing new ideas or change to the store. 
  • Some experience in managing projects will be desirable as we have many ongoing and coming logistics project coming up in IKEA stores. 
  • Self-reliant and motivated with a proven ability to work as part of a larger team.
  • Strong experience in retail and/or supply chain, with a desire to ensure operational excellence service levels in support of the Store’s business growth.  
  • Have strong analytical and interpersonal skills in capacity planning, supply forecast, and inventory accuracy in order to provide partnering advice to stakeholders.
  • Have good leadership capabilities in developing the team as a coach and embrace open communication channels in terms of knowledge sharing within the team and set clear expectations & direction with following up.  
  • Comfortable in communication, managing/leading others, delegating responsibility and work through others to deliver business and people goals.
