Job description

To develop sales in an efficient and effective way in all media in order to attract more customers who come more often and buy more. To lead and inspire your team, other functions and the store to achieve maximum sales growth and profitability. To contribute to the business development regionally using my specialist sales knowledge.

Your assignment

  • To ensure you have the right number of competent co-workers in the right place at the right time and securing that they are fully able and available to serve customers and actively help them to buy.
  • To lead your team in developing the IKEA business and your respective HFB (Home Furnishing Business).
  • To come up with business action plans for your responsible areas and manage resource effectively.
  • To optimize sales and profitability, by taking ownership of the range and actively promoting the IKEA commercial priorities and volume commitments.
  • To act quickly on commercial opportunities and customer feedback; to keep an active eye on competition, supply and performance analysis.
  • To secure and develop our customer base through effective range presentation and sales steering, thereby ensuring and inspiring and enjoyable shopping experience for all IKEA visitors.
  • To lead and develop your team by providing coaching and regular engagement.


  • At least 5 years of experience in a face-paced retail industry with an interest in home furnishing.
  • Self-motivated, analytical and good at implementing commercial strategies, and guiding your team towards sales maximization.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team and actively selling through understanding your customers and their needs.
  • A problem solver and decision maker, good at prioritizing and organizing your work and the work of others efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong and effective communicator; multi-tasking is second nature to you in the course of working with co-workers of all levels, both within and outside IKEA.
