Safety & Security Manager

Job description


Lead and inspire the store team, co-workers and external security guard service to optimise safety and security
in the store, for our customers, visitors and co-workers from preventive loss, injury or illness.

Your tasks will include:
  • Strengthen the IKEA brand and protect our assets by proactively in assessing and managing risks,
    influence the managers and co-workers within the unit, so that a risk aware culture in IKEA will be
  • Co-ordinate with the unit Emergency Response Team and management for the handling of any emergency
    cases and provide appropriate action according to the IKEA Emergency Response rule.
  • Support all business partners through the risk departments audit and review program, and compliance
    with IKEA & local rules/guidelines/legislation.
  • Meet IKEAs intended level of Safety and Security by achieving positive results during Sec Check and
    insurance inspections.
  • Ability to react confidently to critical situations and act appropriately to minimise risks to the business and
  • Proactively identify emerging risks, and ensure early involvement in new initiatives in unit.
  • Accountable for investigation of internal and external incidents and recommending resolution and revision
    of routines as necessary.
  • Work on the stores’ safety and security objectives, targets and related annual action plans.
  • Awareness and update of local amendments to training modules provided by the SO Risk in relation to
    safety and security for all co-workers and managers.
  • Develop understanding on the requirements of the Group Risk Manual throughout the store.
  • Act as a representative interface with external agencies (e.g. Police, SCDF, security guard service
    companies, and keep informed of any regulatory changes to secure viability of these relationships.
Your knowledge, skills and experience include:
  • Possess leadership skills and experience in leading a team and training large groups of employees
  • Previous exposure to safety and security in a retail environment preferred, ideally in a hands on capacity
  • A good communicator possessing both verbal and written skills
  • Ability to react confidently to critical situations and act appropriately to minimise risks to the business and
  • Ability to work in high stress situations
