Job description

  • To lead and inspire the store Comm&In team with IKEA home furnishing knowledge that lead to business growth by exploiting opportunities in the short and long term.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Deputy Store Manager to stimulate interest in home furnishing for all co-workers.
  • Take initiative to facilitate workshops to generate creative directions and implementing a store commercial calendar together with the store management team.
  • Lead the store Comm&In team in securing relevant and inspiring range presentation solutions, optimal store layout, effective and efficient store communication that builds the IKEA Brand and distances IKEA retailers from the competition.
  • Ensure store commercial team has the right understanding of store layout, range presentation and store communication that directly improves work method for range presentation.
  • Contribute with knowledge of people's life at home and consumer shopping behaviour in the creation and implementation of the store business plan.
  • Based on the national competence development plan, identify current and future business needs in order to recruit, develop and retain a high performing and passionate store Comm&In team.


  • Must have a minimum 5 years interior design experience in or outside IKEA.
  • Significant experience of working as Comm&In Manager in an IKEA store.  
  • A deep passion, curiosity and understanding of home furnishing, peoples’ everyday life at home, interior design, shopping behaviour, retailing and communication.
  • Must be able to lead and coach a group of people that are highly qualified specialists in their areas of competence.
  • Able to use commercial and visual competence through a keen eye for aesthetics to capitalise on short and long-term business opportunities.
  • Use the business competence through recruitment, competence development, talent retention and succession.
