Staff Planning Specialist (m/f) - Zagreb store

Your job will be to optimise people planning practices and posting of timely co-workers schedules to the needs of the different store departments. You will continuously seek and coordinate business opportunities through optimised people planning, focused on IKEA co-workers, customers and the IKEA business with IKEA values at core.

You are passionate about people and have a strong belief in individual’s potential. You have experience in people planning and/or Human Resources background. You know about rights and obligations of co-workers and have knowledge of scheduling and time keeping systems and planning process, budgets and how to execute them, especially in retail. You possess a very good command of the English language and MS Office applications, and interest in home furnishing.

In this role, you will be a part of the Business navigation and operations (BNO) department and work closely with People & Culture (P&C) department and ensure the development, adaptation and improvement of quality schedules. You will:
  • Implement people planning strategy on store level, following principles and guidelines from country level
  • Contribute to the store’s complete people planning process from forecasting to the execution of the schedule by posting draft schedules timely, ensuring scheduled hours include planned absences and liaising on the development of final schedules with department managers in order to respond to co- worker, customer and business
  • Collaborate with recruiting manager, BNO Manager and HR Generalist to ensure vacancies are filled with the right contract type and are in line with business needs
  • Support administration activities and analytics part of people planning process to ensure IKEA employment standards are followed efficiently
  • Ensure that the unit’s people planning process supports developing our talents
  • Identify possible improvements in the unit people planning process and ensure co-worker awareness and knowledge of the people planning process through education and support
  • Ensure that the store's planning process supports developing our talents
  • Ensure adherence to IKEA employment standards, legal and union requirements

Your knowledge, skills and experience include:

  • Experience in similar roles, preferably gained in a retail environment
  • Experience in creating a varied and multi-level schedule
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of labour law regulations (regarding working hours)
  • Ability to work at a detailed level on a daily basis
  • Desire to motivate people, and act as trainer and coach
  • Ability to work under pressure and to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Strong decision-making skills with ability to influence and act
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications (especially Excel)
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.

IKEA South East Europe is an exciting and empowering region with great growth agenda in all countries – Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine.
