About You 

  • You are a person who take the lead and drive your area of responsibility.  
  • You like to work efficiently and with continuous improvements mind-set.
  • You have at least 3 years in industrial metal production environment with focus on process and production engineering, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma.
  • You have good knowledge of quality systems and Total Quality Management.
  • You have audit and assessment techniques.
  • You are the person in result oriented, high energy and self-driven way of working.
  • You are good interpersonal skill and team player.
  • You are fluency in English and strong communication.

About the assignment

We are looking for you who have a strong drive to make things happen together with the teams and suppliers working with the IKEA range in our South East Asia – Metal, Plastic and Foil on Board Team.

  • Responsible for Quality Assurance including securing process control for key processes in production at suppliers.
  • Secure all the time compliance to IKEA Requirements
  • Perform product audits and production risk assessments at Suppliers
  • Responsible for supplier development in Engineering and Quality according to IKEA Supplier Operating Standard (ISOS)
  • Lead the supplier development for quality and manufacturing with responsibility to identify and implement actions and execution of Supplier Development Process projects.
  • Work proactively to improve Customer Experienced Product Quality and solve Quality problems with the highest sense of urgency.
  • Actively contribute to improvements and participate in Projects, including Production Processes, Packaging, and Product changes. 
  • Secure final inspection and regular follow up and feedback to the suppliers regarding quality performance
As a Production Engineer, you will secure and support the engineering and quality agenda with the overall goal to improve the customer satisfaction. Furthermore, you will be the main contact towards the suppliers for Engineering and Quality. As part of the business team, you will work with suppliers to develop and secure the production process, handling of quality deviations and secure compliance to all IKEA requirements.

  • Strong knowledge of production processes and material knowledge in Metal
  • Knowledge of the product requirements, standards and test method
  • Experience in process control, process improvement
  • Experience in cost verification for process, products and packaging plus identifying and leading cost out projects.
  • Capable of leading the assigned projects
  • Improvement driven with a “hands on” practical approach to the work
  • Very good in English and Vietnamese language, both written and spoken 
  • Good computer software and systems skills.
