About the assignment

  • To build a professional and long term relationship with suppliers by challenging and negotiate through the IKEA way of doing business.
  • To have an overall responsible for supplier performance and within that develop and implement action plans together with suppliers.
  • To translate Category Business Plan and lead suppliers into solutions for Total Lower Cost at our products.
  • To work with suppliers and continuously increase the competitiveness and on an everyday base work to lower the costs of IKEA products.
  • To secure compliance in IKEA way of working (IWAY).
  • To be professionally challenge suppliers to constantly improve all aspects of supplier performance according to supplier action plan
  • To Lead Supplier Development Process (SDP) identification process to create and implement action plans together with suppliers which delivers to Category Plan
  • To pro-actively work together with HFBs to integrate opportunities and act on deviations to Sourcing Assignment
  • To lead the business agenda by involving & engaging competence needed such as logistics, quality, manufacturing, sustainability, etc.
  • To secure compliance to IKEA Purchasing Manual and other agreed working methods
  • To identify and start-up new suppliers according to business needs
  • To be an IKEA ambassador of IKEA values and do business with Fact-based Business Leadership

  • You have deep knowledge of industry and market specific conditions and macro economy trends.
  • You have deep knowledge of supplier capabilities and material, service and production.
  • You have deep knowledge of Supplier Development Process, Purchase Development Process and Development Product Offer Process.
  • You have ability to lead business with a holistic view, always act with customer, supplier, total IKEA and total cost development in mind.
  • You have capability to deliver result through involving and engaging peoples
  • You have capability to identify and capture business opportunities and deliver results.
  • You have capability to perform business analysis, risk assessment, scenario planning and draw conclusions to support the right business decisions and implementations.
  • You have capability to build trust and relationship in order to build long term business partnership.
  • You have good finance/legal knowledge 
  • You have strong negotiation skills.
