Platform Engineering Manager - Group Digital, INGKA Group

To be successful we believe you have a minimum of 5 years of progressive and diverse experience as software engineer or technology architect. You have experience in managing the operations and on-going maintenance of core systems/solutions and possess strong documented leadership skills. You have knowledge in following areas: · experience of working building and implementing API/Microservices architectures · modern data architectures, data extract mechanisms, functional decomposition and business rules engines · depth of understanding of technology specifically those used for development of the platform areas for which they are responsible · intermediate knowledge of the disciplines of enterprise digital development and technical architecture · extensive knowledge of the cost drivers in systems delivery and operations and the commercial consequences of the technical decisions made · excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and communicate with senior business-leaders and Technology Leadership · experience with Agile practices You have depth of knowledge in implementing API/Microservices architectures and practical ‘hands on’ experience in platform re-engineering/decomposition/modernisation. As a person you have the ability to take ownership and make effective decisions. Furthermore, you are delivery focused with excellent attention to detail and drive to resolve issues. You have intermediate stakeholder management skills. In times of multiple, potentially conflicting needs, you have the ability to manage and prioritise the needs at the same time. We believe dealing effectively, being good with ambiguity and changing priorities are another capabilities of yours. You are a problem solver with outstanding troubleshooting and analytical abilities. Moreover, you demonstrate strong IKEA leadership skills, with the ability and credibility to lead and guide both in house and third party teams.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Platform Engineering Manager you will lead the work of scaling down and phasing out legacy platforms over time, while at the same time delivering the data extracts and APIs required to satisfy the ongoing needs of product development teams. In addition, you will manage and lead the implementation of the platform area roadmap, prioritising work and leading re-engineering teams to execute the required activities. You also will: · support the Platform Area Manager in developing and executing the platform area roadmap for their respective platform, focussing specifically on the re-engineering of the platform · be responsible for balancing the need of implement the platform roadmap, satisfying the ongoing needs of product development teams, while simplify and modernize the landscape · actively manage and prioritize the re-engineering backlog to support product development and the re-engineering of the platform · work with Capability Area Product Owners and Platform Operations Managers to understand and qualify their needs and requirements, ensuring that are understood and planned into the schedule of work as needed · lead the work of scaling down, simplify and modernise through decomposition, decommission and phasing out the legacy platforms over time · manage stakeholders across Products and Platforms Areas to reach agreement on conflicting/overlapping priorities · drive consistency in practice, process, toolset and architecture across the platform reengineering function · lead, coach and develop members of the platform re-engineering function, promoting best practice in technical architecture · work across initiatives within INGKA Group, steering solutions towards the correct architecture In this role you will report to the Platform Area Manager. For this role we have several openings in the following areas: - Customer Fulfilment and Business Operations.
