To support the implementation of the IKEA Concept in new and existing markets the Retail Operation Solutions & Support department within Core Business Franchise is providing a Retail Package consisting of business processes and IT systems to IKEA retailers. Master Version is the IKEA customization of some of the standard software being part of the Retail Package.
About the assignment
In close collaboration with Expansion development leaders within IKEA Expansion lead and coordinate activities between Retailers and central functions, e.g. ROSS, IPEX, PTAG, etc, securing a successful cooperation.
Define and implement efficient processes related to expansion support from central functions.
Support IKEA Retailers with best practice and recommendations on processes and tools related to expansion.
Lead and work closely together with peers across the totality of Core Business Franchise and across IKEA to strengthen and contribute to a strong and relevant IKEA franchise offer.
About the job
Retail Operation Solution & Support (ROSS) is the organisation that maintains and delivers the CBF Retail Package and there are currently 10 retailers operating 22 markets using our package. The total turnover of these markets is around 4 Billion EUR. There are committed plans to open IKEA in 8 new countries the coming 5 years as well as several meeting points in existing countries. Supporting the existing retailers operation as well as future additional expansion of these markets is a large part of what ROSS do.
All retailers are selling the same IKEA range and most trends in customer behaviour are common across markets and continents. This gives us a unique possibility to identify and share best practice as well as constantly improving our offer.
We are working with many different retailers, having different business strategies and objectives. Several retailers are companies with interest in both IKEA and other brands simultaneously, creating a very interesting situation where deep understanding of each retailer is required.
The ROSS organisation contains highly motivated self-driven co-workers with an interest and competence in the crossroad of people, tools and processes. We work very close together with our retailers and get energy from delivering business value at lowest possible cost.
The role is expected to combine both CBF and retailer’s interests, and shall operate according to the IKEA concept, defined strategies and best practice.
Our efforts ultimately aim to support the expansion and business development of the retailers using our retail package and to help them maximise their potential in each market.
We are looking for a hands on and result oriented person, with experience from IKEA retail. In our work we are moving between strategic and operational questions which require a deep interest and knowledge in how things are actually done.

- IKEA retail experience and a personal network of people working within different IKEA units
- A personality driven by achieving long-term sustainable business result
- Leadership skills to create clear targets and to anchor it with all relevant stakeholders
- Ability to drive change and sustainable improvements in a multi-cultural environment
- Social skills where you are able to interact with strong stakeholders confidently, understand them and their needs as well as making them understand you
- Deep knowledge and interest in retail trends and customer behaviors
- Self-managed personality where you with a strong drive, business focus and personal integrity will enable change in the all retail markets
- You are able to work in an environment where the pre-conditions may change from one day to another
- Good level of English (verbally and in writing)
- Ability to travel 50-70 days per year in average
