WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

With both full and part time contracts available, we are looking for someone like you to help us deliver a taste of Sweden and a great customer experience with high quality, sustainable food. You will contribute to a passionate and friendly team working in a fast-paced and safe environment to deliver a better everyday life for the many. IKEA Food in Glasgow boasts around 75 co-workers, each with a passion for food and exceptional customer service. We are made up by 3 smaller teams; the Kitchen, Restaurant, and Bistro & Swedish Food Market. As a Co-worker you will report to one of the Food Managers or Team Leaders and work alongside them in planning and delivering an exceptional experience to thousands of customers and co-workers every day. You will work within all the parameters of Food Safety and Health & Safety to ensure IKEA remains a safe place for people to shop, work and have fun. IKEA and the food team will invest in your training and development to help you grow in the role whilst you will share your knowledge openly and support others in their development too. The ideal candidate will have a passion for people and food, an eagerness to learn and will embrace change with a solution-orientated approach to the many challenges and tasks that present themselves. You will have the ambition to grow within IKEA and to help to develop others too. In IKEA we place great emphasis on our co-workers’ well-being and leading others and ourselves with a positive approach, even through the busiest and most challenging times. As a Living Wage Employer all of our co-workers receive a real living wage of at least £9.30/hour. Your work life balance will be secured with at least 1 weekend off every month, no shifts longer than 10 hours, a minimum of 11 hours between shifts and no more than 6 consecutive days of work. You will work a mixture of day shifts and evening shifts and must have availability to suit your role, for all co-workers evening and weekend availability is essential whilst full-time co-workers should also be available throughout midweek days also. You will be contracted to between 16 and 39 hours, exact amount to be agreed on employment.
