Our first IKEA store in Korea opened in December 2014 successfully and our second store in October 2017. We strongly believe that a happier life starts at home and we have an exciting expansion plan in front of us. We are still in the beginning of establishing IKEA in Korea, developing the brand and building a strong long term positioning. Our plan is to open our third store in late of 2019 and we are very much looking forward to establishing a multichannel business for the many people!
Store #3 will be located in Giheung, YongIn city, Seoul metropolitan area.

About the job (your work & tasks): The purpose of the job is an expert advisory role providing mentoring and technical support to site-based facility management services and the Facility Maintenance team to ensure a sustainable, safe, clean and functional environment for co-workers, visitors and customers of the store; and ensuring that the store is maintained to a common standard “In Shape as New” in order to promote and protect the IKEA brand and to ensure IKEA’s position as the best home furnishing retailer in the local market.
More information about your tasks:
Soft maintenance support to site facility management services to ensure a cleaning, waste management, pest control, snow removal, retail equipment and services, IKEA FOOD equipment, energy and emission management, IT related FM services for co-workers, visitors and customers of the store.
Using your specialist knowledge, support, advice and mentor your FM team members in the delivery of all agreed FM services in your site, in strict adherence with all applicable local regulations and IKEA group mandatories.
Deliver, on a day-to-day basis, the agreed site FM services in line with the IKEA retail and property requirements as well as all applicable local regulations and IKEA group mandatories.
Contribute to FM projects in your specialist area on behalf of the site FM manager.
Provide assistance to external FM service providers in line with their contract, allowing them to deliver the outsourced FM services. Report back on the service providers and his service quality to the site FM manager.
Support the tendering process for new/potential FM service providers by assisting the service providers during site visits.
Support the site FM manager, on a day-to-day basis, with the organisation of the daily FM routines (inspection, testing and maintenance ; both internal work and work executed by an external FM supplier)
Create an environment of trust by encouraging open, constructive, honest, two-way feedback with your team members and other colleagues.
Promote the IKEA social and environmental commitment (Sustainability) and work with your team members to understand how, together, you can contribute to sustainability.
Support the site FM manager in creating the annual FM budget.
Consider always the financial impact of your activities
Assist the site FM manager in cost controlling by working in a lean, simple and cost-conscious way using/sharing good examples and encouraging colleagues to find more effective ways of working.
It is essentials that you have: Common requirement
Proven experience in a multi-service FM organisation (or equivalent), preferably in high-volume retail sector.
Professional qualification or proven successful experience in the specialist area as specified/required by the site FM manager.
Basic technical knowledge, and practical experience, in facility system; including electrical and lighting, mechanical and HVAC, structural site, building automation and energy management is an advantage.
Working knowledge of MS office applications is an advantage.
Ability to communicate confidently and clearly both in Korean and in English is an advantage.
Very good interpersonal, analytical, problem solving skills. Ability and willingness to share knowledge.
Be able to deal with stressful situations and able to work in a self-directed environment to resolve problems and to complete complex tasks within deadlines and financial constraints.
Service minded and customer oriented.
Being a team player, always positive and solution driven. Strive to support and backup for team members whenever possible.
