Job description

Optimise professional communication towards our co-workers and stakeholders, building commitment and loyalty towards the IKEA brand. Support the organisation with relevant and effective internal communication activities, support in the implementation of business strategies and other business needs.


  • Identify communication needs, as well as defining target groups, communication channels, tools and working methods.
  • Make strategic messages clear, simple and understandable to the target group through inspiring communication
  • To lead, execute and follow up communication projects to support the development of the business and to drive business priorities.
  • Provide, maintain and develop communication solutions within the areas of the digital channel landscape, editorials, newsletters and news, internal campaigns according to the business need
  • Support change processes by delivering relevant content and solutions to co-workers and managers as well as stakeholders
  • Explore new communication possibilities, trying out new ways of working.
  • Secure IKEA tone of voice in all parts of internal communication, which also includes strategic documents such as business plans and directions.
  • Benchmark and keep track of trends to always stay relevant


  • Deep knowledge of what communication channels to use for the best effect
  • Relevant education or relevant experience from working with operational communication
  • Fluent both in Japanese and English, written and spoken; down to earth and simple tone of voice
  • Graphic eye
  • Communication trends

  • Interest in home furnishing and people’s everyday life at home. Relates to the IKEA range.
  • A good judge of effective communication
  • Highly creative with good problem solving skills
  • Holistic approach with an eye for the details
