Purchasing & Logistics Area North is one of total eight Purchasing & Logistics Areas within IKEA, and our co-workers are based in Sweden, Germany, Lithuania and Russia. 

Job description

Warehousing Logistics is a competence centre and act as in-house consultant for IKEA in the area of intralogistics. As centre of expertise, we are supporting IKEAs growth with precise, low costing and flexible handling and storing solutions through the whole Supply Chain.

To strengthen our team we are looking for an experienced Logistic Specialist for Intralogistics with a technical / logistical background or comparable work experiences.You are interested to develop handling and storage concepts and to improve logistic operations in order to gain efficiency and to enable a successful transformation to a multichannel retailer.

In this role you will:

  • further develop automated handling and storage solutions and to support the transformation to multichannel retailing
  • scan the market for intralogistics innovations and to develop and improve the efficiency in our units with our supplier base
  • guide and support intralogistics projects worldwide
  • drive as specialist tender processes for automated solutions, to secure quality of installation and to enable a smooth startup of our units


To be a competent partner concerning all intralogistics questions and to be able to perform in this position we believe you have:

  • seniority level in consulting, planning and establishment of logistics units supporting e-commerce and supply chain distribution centres
  • strong technical / logistical background in the area of dimensioning and evaluating intralogistics solutions
  • strong analytical capabilities and ability in solving tasks of high complexity
  • able to support locally and think globally
  • able to take initiative and own decisions
  • open minded and communicative personality
  • good understanding of related IT systems
  • team orientated
  • fluent English (written and spoken)
  • interest and possibility to travel (worldwide)
