IKEA - Online Range and Merchandising Specialist (39 hours)

Job description


We are currently looking for a qualified candidate to join our Commercial function, to help deliver maximum sales growth and profitability in the e-commerce channel by enabling best browsing and shopping experience throughout the IKEA range and contributing actively to attract and convert more consumers to customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales and reaching goals, about creating an IKEA fit for the multi-channel retail future. You will be energized by contributing to overall success and delivering results through collaboration. You are passionate about understanding the behaviours of the many people, the local Life at Home and current home furnishing trends as well as the unique IKEA product range.


• Responsible for planning and optimizing the layout of product listing pages and across different digital media, to show the width and depth the IKEA range to support the seasonality and commercial priorities while simplifying the buying process. • Plan and organize successful product launches including NEWS implementation and optimizing SEO for the product categories in co-operation with the SEO team. • Planning content in co-operation with the content specialists to secure a high level of inspiration as well as working alongside the product communication teams in IoS to ensure up-to-date product images and information is provided to online consumers. • Contribute to conversion optimisation by sharing recommendations with the Core Area Manager, for example add-on sales and cross-selling. • Apply knowledge of the living situation of the IKEA consumer and the changes in shopping behaviour which could impact the IKEA range presentation. • Contribute to ensuring that the agreed product range is visible and buyable on the IKEA online channels according to the business rules. • Continuously measure and follow online sales performance by analysing online customer behaviour, sales and sales margin data and coordinate with CFF, retail units and Business Leaders to decide on sales steering and identify needs. • Prepare for offering the best shopping experience for digital sales and commercial activities by contributing insight and ideas to the briefing process and securing the availability of the online of-fer • Contribute to defining forecast for sales and activity needs in range scope, with the larger Commercial team • Contribute with insights to key stakeholders in the market and the global matrix on how to improve the multi-channel customer experience • Provide an excellent customer experience by implementing an optimal navigation, improving search functionality and market relevant categorization. • Contribute to optimise the range offer in collaboration with respective Business Leaders and work pro-actively towards stakeholders to secure correct fulfillment and forecast at product level • Actively cooperate with all key stakeholders within commercial and beyond to secure integration, common focus and maximize impact (for example Digital, CFF (Customer Fulfilment), Communications, Sustainability, BNOF (Business Navigation Operations & Finance), People & Culture)

The ideal candidate will have: Extensive knowledge in analytics (in particular, Google and Content Square) and how to evolve product strategy based on sales, analytics and industry trends. A deep knowledge of the IKEA brand, range and selling the IKEA way principles as well as an extensive knowledge of sales steering and online range presentation in a multi-channel digital retail environment. A broad knowledge of current home furnishing market trends and end user needs in the IKEA multi-channel shopping experience. A broad knowledge of the IKEA concept, brand objectives, IKEA culture, values and vision, as well as knowledge of direction setting, creation of strategic and operational goals and plans. Good knowledge of SEO/SEM and good knowledge of the IKEA multi-channel reality and online customer behaviours. Experience working with online digital merchandising is essential and we ask that any potential candidates have a minimum qualification level of MSc in a relevant Market/Online Retail variation. This position is a full-time, permanent 39 hour a week vacancy. The successful candidate must be available to work 5 days over 7 between the hours of 8am and 5.30pm. The position is based in our London Service Office, Wembley with occasional travel to other sites required. This position is salaried, with yearly salary starting at £34,800 – dependent on experience.
