Communication Business Partner (12 months Fixed Term Contract) Wembley

Job description


We are looking for someone who is passionate about communication as a business enabler and an integral part of business success. You should be motivated to find better ways of working and are open to change. Furthermore, you are energised by working both independently and interdependently and can work collaboratively with different stakeholders across the business. You have advanced training in Communications with 2-5 years of external and internal communication experience and can work both strategically and tactically. You have knowledge in following areas: • Extensive knowledge of using insights to formulate communication activities • Extensive knowledge of how to lead communication by defining, planning, executing and follow-up communication to relevant stakeholders • Extensive knowledge of digital communication channels, management and techniques • Up-to-date knowledge of communication industry and media landscape (including social media) As a person, you have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently support and influence senior business leaders and colleagues with business goals and co-workers in focus. You have a proactive attitude in problem solving and a hands-on approach when necessary. You demonstrate leadership skills, by making sound judgements and effective decisions. You have the ability to understand the complexity of IKEA’s business and the role of communication. You communicate in an inspirational way, both verbally, visually and in writing.


The purpose of this role is to develop better business results and enable the transformation and growth of the IKEA brand and business, through world class communication. As a Communication Business Partner, you will lead effective communication both internally and externally and secure the communication process by defining, planning, executing and following up communication to relevant stakeholders. You will: • Be a communication expert within an assigned business area to give communication direction and support • Explore, develop and lead communication initiatives that will position the business area and contribute to driving the desired business outcomes • Drive internal and external communication projects (across the areas of Co-worker Communication, Public Affairs and PR), taking different stakeholder perspectives • Build a deep understanding of the business partners’ objectives in order to tie communications work directly to the desired business outcomes • Contribute to the communication strategic planning process to ensure appropriate buy-in and prioritisation of resources • Content development & deployment: enable and accelerate digital communication delivery • Execute effective internal and external communication • Contribute/secure the process for country on-duty phone and media product loans • Identify local strategic opportunities, threats and trends In this role you will report to the Communication Operations Manager. This role is located in London (Wembley). This role requires occasional travel.
