Job description


You are passionate about creating an IKEA fit for the future and energized by increasing customer value, driving business growth and contributing to overall success and results through people. Knowledge about customers’ living situations and retail trends in the different areas around the world as well as their needs, expectations and shopping behaviour. You naturally share the IKEA vision, values and culture and have a strong interest in home furnishing. You enjoy working together in an ever-changing multi-dimensional environment. You have an eagerness and desire to understand the IKEA business, the customer and co-worker needs and influence the improvement of the business with a focus on customer and co-worker satisfaction. For this role you should have proven advanced training in Business Development or equivalent. You bring with you 5 years of experience of developing businesses and delivering results, and 2 years of experience in leading and influencing teams and managers. You have experience from managing change in a complex business environment, and within Project Management. You also bring with you an experience in IKEA retail business and good knowledge and understanding of the whole IKEA Retail Establishment process (eg. Business Case, PDI, Project Design phase and Commercial Brief) while you are working and steering through financial tools (eg. Investment Request (IR), P&L). You have knowledge in the following areas: ・ Ability to speak and write Japanese in Business Level ・ Ability to co-operate with people in different units and culture ・ Ability to manage a high degree of uncertainty in a complex context ・ Ability to facilitate, inspire and motivate ・ Ability to “find a way through” while working with ambiguous and complex topics ・ Proactive and self-motivated team player who can work with limited direction ・ Good leadership capabilities ・ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trustful relationships ・ Ability to communicate verbally, visually and in writing in an inspirational way with IKEA tone of voice ・ Ability to prioritise and make decisions with speed and simplicity ・ Ability to take a holistic view of a global organisation and identify business opportunities accordingly As a person you have a strong collaborative mind-set in building relationships within and outside the organisation and use your good communication and negotiation skills. You possess the capability to enable translation of business and customer needs into development initiatives. You have the ability to act within the global framework in order to achieve local/market/organisation goals. You have the competence to identify need and drive change within the organisation in market level acting in multi-cultural, interdependent and matrix environments. In planning and maintaining work processes you possess the ability to apply strategic and analytical end-to-end process oriented thinking.


The purpose of the role is to take responsibility for a high-performing fulfilment operations in the market Store Fulfilment network in the assigned stores including: • Daily fulfilment operations in all stores in the market • Efficiency and continuous improvement • Short and mid-term capacities • Cost development and contribution to the cost goal You will contribute to the operations and development of the Store Fulfilment organisation both directly and through the work with the assigned stores with a customer-centric and collaborative approach in focus and be the main speaking partner for assigned stores in the market. You will be: • Embed the agreed organisational development principles, framework and methodology to achieve IKEA group and country objectives via partnering with the different stakeholders like Retail Expansion and IISBV, ensuring “right first time” for an optimal outcome for total IKEA • Be a change agent role model, coach and mentor to the country organisation in order to understand the way to work with process and OD with IKEA culture and values as the foundation • Plan, organise, execute and follow up projects according to Ingka expansion process and applicable delivery methodology • Manage dependencies and interfaces between projects, line and global organisation • Manage time, cost, scope and quality of the CMP development projects, including how to organise and work in a simple, lean and cost-efficient way • Manage communication by planning and distributing relevant information and learnings to the different stakeholders within the Ingka organisation • Identify, mitigate, monitor and control risks • Manage stakeholders by identifying stakeholders, planning for stakeholder management and following up on engagement • Take lead in working across functions within Ingka Group and collaborate with other IKEA units • Take lead in driving an open and sharing climate, being a role model of the IKEA values • Lead positive change, and contribute to building a more unique, inclusive and accessible IKEA - guided by the People and Planet Positive commitments In this role you will report to the Expansion Manager (Iman Monfared). EXPANSION With the customer at the heart of everything we do, Expansion takes responsibility for developing and implementing the strategic expansion plan in the country. Expansion acts upon business needs based on insights and optimize accessibility to enable maximum penetration of the country. Expansion is responsible for implementing our retailing concepts and securing that we fully utilise our assets in the new world of IKEA – all at lowest cost, with economy of scale and sustained profitability. Lead people within the country project team to prepare, plan and organize Customer Meeting Point (CMP) initiatives, manage dependencies, develop and open new IKEA CMPs. Support projects that will be part of the CMP development to deliver measurable and scalable CMPs to contribute to growth and building the IKEA brand.
