Job description

• Ensure dining room is kept neat & clean, free from spills and debris and ready to receive new guests. • Ensure sufficient supply of trays, cutlery, kitchenware and crockery are available for service areas. • Observe all Health/Safety regulations for proper food handling, personal hygiene & proper use of all equipment • Ensure your uniform is clean, neat and meets both IKEA and the Health/Safety guidelines. • Clean, operate and maintain equipment according to safety, health and sanitation laws and guidelines standards. • Remove and empty trash following waste management and environmental policies. • Use available resources to educate yourself on Food Service products, services and customer interaction skills. • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of coworkers and customers. • Provide friendly, helpful and efficient service to each customer and follow IKEA’s 8 Steps (guidelines) to Good Food Service. • Perform department specific routines to ensure the kitchen, back of house area, & all other food service areas are maintained to IKEA standard. • I help and support colleagues when needed and I share my knowledge with them and encourage them to do the same. • I value my colleagues’ ways of working and I learn from those who work differently to me. • I take an active role in my team and co-operate when appropriate with colleagues in other area of the store. • I keep myself informed so that I can perform effectively. I comply with and follow internal rules, policies and daily operational routines regarding issues such as quality, food safety and stock figures as set by my manager. • I am responsible for my own development and look to my manager to support me in my development. • Safety is a top priority and I and take action and raise and discuss concerns with a manager as needed. • I ensure any food incident, or potential incident, is reported and I inform the duty manager. • Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur.
