Our first IKEA store in Korea opened in December 2014 successfully and our second store in October 2017. We strongly believe that a happier life starts at home and we have an exciting expansion plan in front of us. We are still in the beginning of establishing IKEA in Korea, developing the brand and building a strong long term positioning.

Our plan is to open our forth store in Korea2020 and we are very much looking forward to establish a multichannel business for the many people!

Store #4 will be located in Busan city, the second largest port city in Korea.

About the job (your work & tasks):

In your role asStore Opening IKEA Family Support, you will be a strong contributor to the store opening support team. Take part of planning and administration of recruiting new IKEA family members and retaining and activating existing members. Implement the set activities and events for the opening campaigns aligned with the country marketing strategy for the openings. This role contributes to a successful opening of the new stores supporting the Store opening project leader and the store opening support team. This role will also be responsible to administer and run the IKEA family activities under the leadership of the Store opening project leader.

This is temporary assignment for 1 yearsupporting new store opening campaign, you may expect some additional tasks related to the general Marketing or Sales department scope – and within the planned lean IKEA organization, a high level of flexibility, cooperation and mutual support will be required.

More information about your tasks

  • Work together with the Store opening project leader and the store opening support team to implement and execute the opening campaign activities, with special focus on IKEA family related activities.
  • Be responsible for the planning, implementing, operating and following up of the IKEA family related events, activities and communication aligned with Country IKEA family strategy
  • Support the Store opening event support with product pickup, transport, assembly, implementation of the home furnishing solutions on site and demolition of the activity site.
  • Plan and execute the IKEA family communication to the visitors on site
  • Be responsible for administration of ordering of goods (food, gifts etc), filling up the stock for the event site for IKEA family events
  • Coordinate with the different functions like com&in, sales, CFF, HR, food, etc for the execution of the opening activities for IKEA family events
  • Administration and execution of the daily events in the popup, moving truck with special focus on IKEA family etc.
  • Be active during the events and interact with the visitors with IKEA family interest in mind
  • Be an excellent ambassador for IKEA on the activity sites for IKEA family members
  • Support the various IKEA family related activities on site, eg HR activities, internal activities, press activities etc.
  • Support the store opening project leader to lead the agencies involved in the implementations of the IKEA family activities

It is essential that you have:
  • A curiosity about IKEA customers and consumers.
  • Passion for Loyalty programs
  • Passion for communication
  • Passion for understanding customer behaviour and sales data and translating into relevant and customised communication.
  • Loyalty program execution skills
  • Event execution knowledge and experience
  • Loyalty program knowledge and experience
  • Proven experience in campaign implementation
  • Good communication and collaboration skills working with internal and external partners.
  • Working knowledge of developing marketing communication campaigns.
  • Retail and/or home furnishing experience.
  • Experience of working with communications
  • Experience of working with events
