Job description


  • Ensuring our Delivery and Handout services are timely, accurate, and efficient for our customers and cost-effective for the IKEA store.
  • Handling customer goods and payment in a reliable, efficient, accurate and friendly way.
  • Complete any necessary return or exchange procedures to maintain correct stock levels and serve the customer in coordination with our service provider.

Your tasks will include:

  • Create a positive experience for our customers, to ensure they return in the future.
  • Understand the importance of accurate stock inventory.
  • Ensuremywork space iseffectivelyequippedatall times to helpcustomers when needed.
  • Confident and knowledgeable to resolve customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Listen to our customers and use knowledge of the IKEAproductrange to offer informedsolutionsandresolve customer issues.
  • Offer solutions to frequentlyaskedquestions from customers to help make a better futureshoppingexperience for everyone.
  • Recordaccurate information inrelevant systems to analyze our customers shopping experience to make improvements.
  • Ensure the IKEAstore is a safe andsecure environment atall times for visitorsandcolleagues.
  • Activelyworktogether withother store functions to continuouslyimprove the shoppingexperience for our customersinorder to drive sustainedlong-term profitability.
  • Value other co-workerswaysof workingand I learnfromthose who workdifferently.
  • Understand the financial results of my work area and know which results will have an influence over the needs of my customers.
  • Follow cash handling procedures to ensure the security of all monies received.
  • Continuously look for more effective ways of working to reduce costs.

Your knowledge, skills and experience include:

  • Experience of customer focus and customer service;
  • Good at quickly building rapport with people from different (cultural) backgrounds;
  • Emotional resilience and ability to handle conflict (assertive and able to remain calm when confronted with angry and/or upset customers);
  • Ability to use and take personal initiatives and to make considered decisions;
  • Ability to work alone but also as a team player
  • Attention to detail
  • A flexible approach/open to change
  • Computer literate
  • Experienceofworking in a high volume andfast-paced retail environment is preferred
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own work to make efficient use of time available;
  • Ability to handle several tasks at the same time
