Key previous experience and skills needed before the job can be taken up • Academic degree in architecture, engineering or equivalent • Several years of experience working with architectural and engineering design in construction • Experience within the retail sector is an advantage • Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English • Preferable knowledge of Ingka construction standards and investment procedures

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Is to Support the Construction business in the cluster related to engineering/technical/architectural aspects in order to deliver safe, compliant, sustainable and innovative property solutions. The construction Design Leader will act as an Architect on the projects entrusted to him. The Construction Design Leader intervenes on the new construction, the rehabilitation, the renovation or the adaptation of existing building. The typologies of projects will be intimately linked to the activity and strategy of the IKEA group: stores of varying sizes, office, warehouses, depots, pop up stores, shopping center. You will: • Provide architectural know-how based on current Ingka standards and national best practice in order to deliver safe, compliant, sustainable and innovative property solutions. • Participate the development in the Cluster on how to engage with designers in order to continuously find cost efficient and innovative design process by optimizing the delivery of our partners and stakeholder’s competence and knowledge into the project design. Work and engage closely with Engineer Manager, Engineers, Construction Manager and Construction Project Managers to optimize, innovate and develop the best for project methods for design-construct interaction. • Participate and coordinate all architectural work developed in the Cluster and align implementation and communication of those activities with internal and external stakeholders, including supporting the projects within the current key competence areas: Structural and Architectural Design / Fire and Risk Engineering - HVAC Systems and Energy Modelling - Electrical Systems - LCC & LCA calculations - Technical Solutions and Innovations for PPP & BREEAM - Design Management: Procurement, Development and Coordination • Manage and lead the project development phase in terms of architectural and engineering matters together with the construction projects manager • Support Construction colleagues in regards of architectural/technical/aspects. • Co-ordinate and maintaining the cluster knowledge-base regarding Ingka requirements and local/national code requirements relating to the design and construction of Ingka buildings. • Maintain and secure up-to-date awareness and understanding of all frameworks, guidelines and initiatives issued by Group Real Estate, and ensure these are communicated to Construction Project Managers and external partners as needed. • Provide support to the project development phase in terms of architectural matters. • Evaluate the technical aspects of new construction techniques and follow the national development in the field of construction engineering • Cooperate with the Facility Management team in the cluster to develop best practice, obtain feedback, and increase the technical knowledge of FM co-workers. • Support Construction Project Managers in the work to: - Clarify all Ingka requirements, standards and guidelines - Selection process of external consultants - Detailed architectural and engineering design - Managing the quality control of the design and construction work In this role you will report to the Engineer Manager.
