Flow & Capacity Team Leader

Job description

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

Knowledge/Experience:
• 2 year college degree in logistics, transportation management, business or supply chain or relevant working experience preferred.
• 3-5 years supply chain experience required.
• Knowledgeable and understanding Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Experience with computer software (i.e. MS Office, Databases).
• Analytical, organizational, strategic thinking skills.

Essential Physical/Mental Requirements:
• General office work with occasional lifting of no more than 25 pounds (12 kgs).
• Everyday use of computer equipment on a consistent basis.
• Read, count and write to accurately complete all necessary documentation, if needed.
• Communicate with other co-workers, managers and customers on a regular basis (written, verbal, in person, phone or email).
• Ability to manage conflict, when needed.
• Occasional Bending, stretching, reaching, lifting. Sitting at work area on a consistent basis.
• Ability to handle high volume workload with multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and moderate stress.

Manage team to meet DSNA standards for fill rate and lead time

Other Requirements
• Ability to work varied hours/days as needed by the location
• Minimal travel required (0-10%)

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• Supervise Yard management- layout and setup of the yard, decision making of where containers are placed.
• Oversees planning: outbound and inbound flow planner, check on planning, following protocols and goals. Planners work with TL to make the decision. Check/balance role.
• Review utilization and efficiencies
• Manage time and attendance of direct reports. Corrective actions for co-workers, manage performance.
• Schedule work schedules for direct reports
• Interface with other DC departments: work closely with SDS/CDC so plan can be executed.
• Ensure fluid communication between flow planning/traffic and SDS managers and coworkers
• Manage/report KPI’s (follow up on per diem, etc, monitor unloading (061))
• Ongoing Training of direct reports
• Manage performance and write performance reviews of direct reports
• Assist managers in the training of new co-workers
• Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur
• Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers
• Support and execute the ideals of the “the Human Resources Idea” in regards to training, recruitment, development and leadership of the team function
• Work with external vendors/oversee correspondence with transport and carriers/escalation.
• Authority to connect with transport function/best utilize transport agreements/plan/not plan based on availability of equipment (TL makes these decisions).
• **Article Administration: Reports/maintains what is in Gemini- measurements, plock, info, etc. (061 and 490)
• **Integrity of information (061 and 490)
• Emergency calls for guard shack (off hours)
