PURPOSE OF FUNCTION:
To inspire and surprise visitors by presenting and communicating the IKEA home furnishing offer with strong visual impressions that exceed visitors’ expectations. This will strengthen the IKEA Brand and convert more visitors into customers.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To create inspiring store solutions for an easy and convenient shopping experience and increasing vitality by translating deep knowledge about consumer buying behaviour, store layout, range presentation and local market knowledge thereby contributing to positioning the IKEA brand in the local market as the home furnishing specialist and the IKEA store as an upto-date and innovative destination that always offers something new.
To create relevant, functional, aesthetic and commercial home furnishing solutions that contribute to positioning the IKEA brand in the local market as the leader in life at home.
JOB-SPECIFIC CAPABILITIES :
Ability to combine commercial, aesthetic and practical skills. Ability to generate, visualise and present new ideas. Ability to work together with others in a team. Confidence in approaching and communicating clearly with different people in various situations. A flexible, hands-on approach to responsibilities and the ability to meet set deadlines.
You will be a good fit for this role if you possess the following:
Candidate currently studying Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Art/Design/Creative Multimedia/Interior Desig or equivalent.
Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia
Preferably specialized in Arts/Creative/Graphics Design or equivalent.
Visual competence with a keen eye for aesthetics • Customer-focused mindset • Ability to generate new ideas and concepts
A passion for home furnishing, retailing, design and how people live at home
Ability to draw, visualise and present an idea
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Enthusiastic about assignments and working with others in a team
Good attention to detail and practical hands-on approach to work
Computer proficient with knowledge and experience of using relevant software (e.g. AutoCad)
Exercises great team work and enthusiasm
Able to commit a minimum of 3 months of internship.
