IKEA sells millions of products around the world every day and each one must make its way from supplier to customer. Category Area Transport, part of Supply Operations Organisation, play vital role in the IKEA supply chain and make sure that the transportation is performed in a professional way, securing all requirements related to availability, optimal total cost, quality & sustainability.
Your tasks will include:
Service Provider's (SP) performance: Secures SP's operational performance, as defined by relevant KPIs, in relation to capacity, precision, qualitative parameters, claims, safety, etc; identifies, monitors & implements relevant actions.
Optimal capacity: Together with SP and internal supply chain stakeholders in Supply Chain Operations secures optimal usage of agreed/available transport capacity vs planned/needed capacity. Secures low share of spot bookings. Actively works with capacity forecasting (mid- and short-term), identifies SP's production constraints due to peaks, volume fluctuations, etc. and, together with supply chain stakeholders in Supply Chain operations finds optimal solutions leading to securing needed capacity at lowest total cost.
Purchasing Process: Contributes to SP's management and development by supporting, respectively, transport purchasing process. Supports the commercial role (Business Developer) with Tender/other procurement activity's preparation & implementation. Contributes with local operational and market knowledge (e.g. Safety Standards). Handles contract administration.
New set-ups: Implements, operationally & from SP perspective, and in close cooperation with Supply Operations Developer and other relevant functions, new SP set-ups. Contributes to development of Working Methods and documentation (e.g. Carrier Manual).
Your knowledge, skills and experience include:
At least 3 years carrier experience or equivalent experience in carrier’s management.
Preferred experience in Multinational Companies.
Good knowledge of transport industry.
Experience in running complex analysis.
Ability to create trustful relations.
Commercial attitude & experience and excellent communication skills.
Structured business approach.
Ability to act pro-actively and be able to find new solutions.
English Fluent. Other languages (French, Italian, Spanish, Arabic) preferred.
Ability to see IKEA as a whole and keep the focus on the IKEA customer.
