Job description

We are looking for three engineering managers that are passionate about technology and people and gets energy from coaching and developing a great engineering team, facilitating good teamwork, and building, running, and maintaining our portfolio of digital products.   

Each manager will be responsible for a specific domain based on the area of expertise and products they will be supporting and securing competencies for. The three focus areas are DevOps and Data; Cybersecurity and Infrastructure; 3D and Business Architecture. 

Your goal is to deliver a leading-edge and highly scalable M&C technology foundation for IKEA to enable IKEA to deliver an attractive omnichannel experience, enabled by an effective digital work foundation for our co-workers.  

In your role as Engineering Manager, you will lead and guide a product engineering domain area in the development of a common M&C technology foundation for IKEA customers and co-workers.  You will lead team of leaders and specialists, ensuring they are constantly developing and growing, while solving complex technical problems that deliver value to our customers and co-workers. You will:  

  • Develop and lead software engineering for digital platforms, products, data, services, and workflows in the assigned engineering domain area. 

  • Secure proper design, architecture, and technology in place for assigned platforms and products within the domain. 

  • Build, lead and develop teams of world-class engineers, architects, and tech. leaders. 

  • Secure besides cutting-edge technology development also “bullet proof” security practices and efficient running operations, including product and platform system Life Cycle Management. 

  • Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives within Marketing & Communication Digital and in the broader IKEA technology network. 


  • Good understanding and global experience of digital marketing and content management lifecycle architecture and technologies. 

  • Preferable experience from design and development of Martech platforms such as Digital Asset Management (DAM), Product Information Management (PIM), Content Management (CMS), API creation, cloud services, 3D and marketing automation, CRM and e-commerce. 

  • Understanding of modern architecture, infrastructure data extract mechanisms. 

  • Knowledge about Agile, DevOps ways of working and tools and understanding how to deliver CI / CD and cloud-based solutions 

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
